Overview - SHENTEK^® Glycerol Quantification Colorimetric Kit

Glycerol is also called glycerin or glycerine and the chemical formula is C₃H₃O₈. Due to its low toxicity, glycerol is ofen used for the concentration and storage of enzymes, strains at low temperatures, as a protective agent in cell culture. It is also widely used in pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic formulations. The content of excipient glycerol must meet standards. SHENTEK^® Glycerol Quantification Colorimetric kit can determine the glycerol concentration in the samples of injection, vaccine and other biological products. In this kit, glycerol concentration is determined by a enzyme assay invloving the glycerol dehydrogenase, resulting in a colorimetric (340nm) product which is proportional to the glycerol present. The lowest detection limit is 0.01 mM. The linear range is 0.1mM-2.0mM. It is suitable for biomedical, biological products and food laboratory testing.
